Dead motherboard anyone?

The motherboard of my notebook is dead. At least that's what the guys at the service center told me. They also told me that replacing it would cost 459 euros, which is kinda funny, coz a new one costs about 100 bucks.
So yeah...has anyone tried replacing a laptop's motherboard?

Meh, nobody's gonna read this anyway.
